The second title of the book series Focused on,Object brings the story of the Gold Star of the Hero,of CSSR, the highest state decoration of communist,Czechoslovakia, which was introduced in 1955. The,introduction of the book captures a brief history of,distinctions in general. The following chapters are,devoted to the background of the creation and awarding,of the honorary title of Hero of CSSR and brief,information about individual recipients. The greatest,emphasis is placed on the personality of Vladimír,Clementis, who was awarded the Gold Star of the Hero,of CSSR in memoriam and whose decoration is currently,kept in the collections of the SNM – Museum of History.,Attention is also paid to other orders and decorations,from the estate of Clementis, which came to the museum,from the abolished Institute of History of the Communist,Party of Slovakia. The text is compiled on the basis of,archival and material research. It presents previously,unpublished information in a simple and engaging,way and offers a comprehensive view of an interesting,phaleristic issue.
